December PSAT/NMSQT Score Release

December PSAT/NMSQT Score Release

Dec 06, 2017

December PSAT scores will be sent to students next week. Early findings show that students who take it improve their scores by 100 points.

Starting this week millions of students nationally will receive their scores from the PSAT/NMSQT from the October Test. Educators were able to start viewing student test scores online starting Monday, December 4 and students will receive their scores between Monday, December 11 through Wednesday, December 13.

Educators and students can use the scores to see areas where students performed well and identify areas where they need additional support.
As a tutor, you can judge a student’s PSAT/NMSQT scores are on the same scale as SAT® scores, making it easy to track student progress over time. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher, on average, on the SAT than those who do not, making it an important test for you to encourage your student to take

Important data recently released by College Board found:

  • In the class of 2017, 35% who took the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 and later the new SAT increased their total scores by 100 points or more.
  • In the class of 2018, 34% of students who took a PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 as 10th graders and took the PSAT/NMSQT as 11th graders increased their total scores by 100 points or more.
